After spending another lovely day in Vafa shelter I wanted to share my day with all of you. Our lovely furry friends were happy and in a very good shape, even few need to watch their weight ;)

درود و هاپ هاپ بلند بالا به همه شما!

در ایران سال کم کم بپایان می‌رسد و ما با اشتیاق به استقبال سال جدید می‌رویم. سال گذشته، سال سختی بود. زمستان بطور غیر عادی سرد و طولانی‌ و مخارج پناه گاه شامل سوخت که برای نگهداری توله‌ها ضروری است تقریبا دو برابر شد. قطع یارانه‌ها بمعنی‌ واقعی کلمه گزنده بود.

We rescued Rosie through BadRap (http://www.badrap.org) back in early December of 2001. We guessed she was about 2 years old. She was used as a puppy machine, until found roaming streets of Napa and ended up at the shelter there. Thanks to one of BadRap volunteers (Deanna), she was pulled out of there, and my husband Kourosh and I decided to foster her.... The rest is 'history'.

She was full of heart, and inspired me to help other animals.

Dear Friends,

All of you have shined in the past by fulfilling the needs at Vafa Animal Shelter - great and small - especially when the animals in our care needed it the most [photo essay by Maryam Walsh]. The highlight of these contributions was the thoughtful gift of an extended cab truck by Mr. Kamran Vakil so Vafa's staff could conduct their work, and the donation of a much-needed generator by Mr. Mehdi Bakhtiari to ensure consistent power at the shelter.

Dear Ones:

I hope this finds you well.

I'm sure some of you have received this email from me in the past. And some may be new to my 'personal' friend's list who I approach to get help with "MY" Vafa Shelter sponsorship/fundraising effort for month of January.

I have pledged to Vafa Shelter that I will raise minimum of $1000 on January of each year. Back a couple of years ago $1000 went a long way--but I'm afraid due to economic problems and value of dollar back home, $1000 is 'nothing'...

Dear Iranian.com/Vafa Shelter fans:

I would like to share the latest about the shelter dogs and its’ amazing staff and volunteers. For those of you who may be reading about them for the first time, I found out about Vafa Shelter through Iranian.com and since then, I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs EsnaAshari (director of Vafa) and the beautiful dogs and amazing staff of the shelter.
