Gabriel says it is a personal journey walking trough the Book of Revelation in the Bible. However the imagery and mythological references are not limited to Bible.

He wrote the story after a couple of strange occurrences. He 'saw' seven "saintly shrouded men" walk on the lawn of his father-in-law's house; afterward, he contemplated about nature of Good and Evil and wrote Supper's Ready.

It is comprised of seven sections. A post with minimal description of each section will follow.

The final cut

The Final Cut from the album by the same name is the last one that
Pink Floyd released with Waters still in the band. It is an anti war
concept album The back cover reads: "A Requiem for the Post-War Dream."

This particular song is about a painful separation both figuratively
and literally. Throughout the video there are images of women pioneers
whom he admires, but he is dismayed by the direction and eventual
'undesired' outcome of their struggles for Liberation, namely "sexual
revolution" and objectification of women.

Games without frontiers is from third Gabriel's eponymous album. It addresses futility of war and nationalism, and throughout the song there are references to historical characters from Hitler, to Chiang Ching.

The first video is from performance in Athens back in 87; the film is
called P.O.V and was made by Martin Scorsese-Just look at the images of
children...

The idea of Neil young's rocking in the free world was conceived when he and a band mate saw newspaper photos of Khomeini's funeral where people where burning the American flag. Frank remarked, whatever we do we should not get close to M..E. Neil asks him what should we do. Frank says "keep rocking in the free world".

Days of Future Passed(1967) is the second album from the Moody Blues. It is perhaps the first concept album within proggressive rock.

Justin Hayward wrote Nights in White Satin, a hauntingly beautiful, and sorrowful love song when he was 19 years old. Stylistically Rock music is accompanied by symphonic music creating a seamless and delightful sonic experience.

I thought a little break from the usual blog is in order, because my next entry, although great, is difficult and dense.

Bill Hicks comedian/ philosopher refered to himself as Chomsky with dick jokes. He died at a young age in 1994; just when he was about to "Break Out" in the U.S. He appeared on the Letterman's show eleven times; his last segment was totally censored by the Network. Mr. Letterman 'redeemed' himself* by rebroadcasting Hick's last stand up in January 2010 and invited Bill's mother to the show.

Meaningful lyrics is coupled with tight rock music ( all three are excellent performers).

Today's Tom Sawyer is a rebel-hero( always hopeful, yet discontent), He is independent, and mindful of government and religion...

The album was releases in 1981, and the video, I believe, is from exit stage left.
