Shirin Ebadi speaks for Nasrin Sotoudeh - Amnesty International .

" my colleague Nasrin Sotoudeh was the lawyer that so many of us human rights defenders in Iran called when our own government harassed us or put one of us, or a family member, in jail.

Sadly, it is now Nasrin who is in jail.
Normalize This!

Nothing is normal about occupation
nothing normal about apartheid
ethnic cleansing, siege, blockade
settler only roads, bombing water wells
schools, mosques & UN buildings
nothing normal about putting
a civilian population on a diet
paying non-indigenous foreigners
to occupy land that is already populated
rewriting the Nakba with each stolen childhood
trying to desensitize the puncture wounds
and claw marks put into the bodies of
Bassem Abu Rahme & Rachel Corrie

No, I don’t want to normalize with you

We have been advised by THE morality police on this site, to stop talking about the latest CIA affair thingy and focus on the issues on Iran. But how can we while our title carries our guilt? Iranian-American.

The American part of us can not let this exciting, developing, and twisting story to just go away. Believe me, Police jan I tried but every channel I flip to these days, I am finding the he(s) and she(s) and their R-rated story. ( rated R for sex and CIA) ..

If we get a forecast for heavy snow the one constant is that the stores will run out of milk, bread, and eggs in a few hours.I suppose people like French Toast when marooned in the house.

Republicans are saying they have to wait till Thursday to find out exactly how and where Obama's response to Hurricane Sandy was incompetent and a failure

Which Law? Whose Country?

In this Fall season, on this early October day of the year 2012, nothing could have woken me more effectively up than reading the news that 's posted by the IC 's very own freedom fighter, Fred. Reading it made me completely awake, something that the alarm clock in its "Trill" mood or the smell of coffee in my cup could have never been able to do it so easily.

Here is a link in case that you have missed it.... Reuters / Roberta Rampton.

One of those WTF moments in American political history.

With no doubt one of those WTF moments in the American political history is going to be the Clint Eastwood's Empty Chair Speech and here are the top ten comments on this subject.

.........

After the speech Eastwood continued the debate behind scenes with dishwasher, refrigerator and a Bunn coffee machine

Clint Eastwood is still backstage arguing with a vending machine.

Even Neil Diamond posted "nobody talks to a chair". Oh, wait...

If Eastwood's speech was the pinnacle of absurdity and bizareness, Romney's was the height of blandness

Mindless Science

Not all scientists are pretending to be mindless zombies. Some of the greatest scientists of all time, particularly the founders of the Quantum Theory, thought that consciousness was the fundamental reality of the universe, it's very intelligence, and "matter", as existing separately from consciousness, an illusion:

Submerged City

There is a poem by Adam Zagajewski from the collection " Eternal Enemies " that I would like to share it here with you. A friend of mine once told me that this poem reminds him of Pripyat, the eerie ghost city, abandoned after the wake of the Chernobyl disaster.

It is a city without people that stuck in a Soviet time warp, a melancholy meditation on impermanence. Among the ruins, plastic kitsch, shoes, political posters and other modern paraphernalia, nature is starting to reassert its authority. Grass and trees are reclaiming the city...

Shattered in our image

It all comes out in the end to the empty paths

Passing by the prairie night

Imprisoned with blurred visions

I have come to appreciate Rap music may be because I like poetry. Rappers are poets and are one of the wittiest most clever writers with incredible punch lines as well as having versatility with their words. I love the beats. A good one soothes the ear and distresses the mind.
