LOVE THIS FILM, and So Does Makhmalbaf ;0)

I love nearly All of Kirk Douglas' movies but particularly The Vikings and Spartacus for the energy and thrill it communicates. As Hollywood Stars Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis were very much appreciated before the Revolution in Iran and so were Alain Delon and Jean Paul Belmondo as French Stars.

In Mohsen Makhmalbafs movie Nun Va Goldun aka A Moment of Innocence take a look at one scene at the Tailors Shop, it is a tribute to Kirk Douglas in Vikings and Spartacus. The Tailor even looks like an Older Kirk Douglas with a Mustache like in his role as Doc Holliday in Gunfight at OK Corral. The Tailor also has a dimple in his Chin. I highly recommend you to read Douglas' autobiography: A RagMans Son:

It is a wonderful book and written with great honesty and humor. I did not like Kirks other books written as he got older and less objective when speaking about international politics and Israeli-Arab conflict. It is very naive. But the Ragmans Son is a JOY and a MUST read for anyone interested in Hollywood's Golden Age.

Kirk Douglas also Has a MySpace page:

He is a Very Brave Man and if not always objective he is nevertheless very funny for a Man his Age ( 90 Years)
