my comments are just on the surface level on what I can see on my monitor and I'm sure they're good looking as you described; my knowledge is just very very little about their cartoon works and their personal lives. It is almost impossible to learn about people with just photos or few SA writings on the web. It can give you lot of false/negative impressions. I'm sure they are good human beings at the right time and it's place.

Omidy Nist has made a comment in Farsi, which roughly translates to: “I don’t know why Mahoud’s cartoons are so ugly.  His cartoons made me vomit.  I can’t sleep at night.  His cartoons are scary.  For sure he is as ugly as Haji…LOL”  Actually you are describing his caricaturization of the ruling mullahs very well.  He is trying to capture the essential nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran regime, which is corrupted constitutionally, institutionally, religiously, morally, and at personal level.  I am sure like any people in this world there are ugly looking mullahs and good looking ones, however Mahmoud’s art form is to capture that ugliness.  Mahmoud has drawn many digital paintings of his favorite people like actors and divas, and they look very beautiful.  He has his own unique way of painting, which I have not seen anywhere else.He does not post any comments about his cartoons otherwise you would have seen that he has a painting of himself for his avatar, and also he use to have a picture of himself posted for awhile.  Both Mahmoud and Haji are handsome looking men in their own ways, and I am sure both of them look beautiful to the people who love them, or in another word “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”. My fer fery hair is just a disguise; you should have seen me when I drew myself bald.
