BIOGRAPHY
Sahand Quazi's new Music Video by the name of "Ham Hameh" was released yesterday. The video was produced by Ali Zamani, who is one of the most talented Iranian filmmakers of our time as well. Sahand grew up in Tehran and lived in America during his teenage years only to move back to Tehran again last year. Nobody has worked harder than this invididual in helping the growth of Rap inside and outside of Iran. Moreover, he helped create the First Iranian Hip-Hop Clothing line last year (021Clothing.com), helping to bring a new element to the Iranian rap culture.
The fighting in the video has been misunderstood and only makes sense if watched until the end. The video shows 2 Iranians fighting each other at the instigation of the white guy, which symbolizes the American. At the end of the video Sahand comes and breaks up their fighting and has them walk away, uniting them under the flag. He is trying to send a message that Iranians should not be tools of any external power or authority and should be united all together, hence the name "Ham Hameh." Last but not least his music video was dedicated to the Iranian National Basketball team and in particular to the memory of Idin Nikkah Bahrami, because nobody showed more unity than this team after they overcame the death of their best player (Idin) as they were preparing for the Olympics in China this past summer. Sahand of course also grew up playing basketball in the same gym as Idin in Tehran, so Idin's loss had a special meaning for Sahand. This video was made in the hopes of seeing this divided nation united once again. It should also be stated that a subtitled version of this video will be coming out soon, which is being submitted to UNICEF.
