Americans should be appalled by the doublespeak emanating from our government and media.
Iran has not initiated a war since 1826, has no nuclear weapons, and, in 2004, spent $83 per capita on defense (Statesman's Yearbook, 2008). Nuclear armed Israel has launched six wars against its neighbors, and in this decade alone, three full-scale military assaults on captive Palestinian civilians. Yet, we are told that Iran poses an "existential threat" to Israel so dire as to require an immediate armed response.
Joe Biden discussed this "existential threat" in a recent interview, during which I believe he gave administration approval for as Israeli attack on Iran. Despite subsequent denials, who believes that Biden didn't speak for Barack Obama?
