leaving the development of nuclear arms in the country to just a
question of political choice, the head of the Israeli military
intelligence research department said on Wednesday.

"In the past, developing a nuclear bomb [in Iran] depended on
overcoming technological obstacles, but now it only depends on their
[Iranians'] decision," the press service of the Israeli Defense Forces
(IDF) quoted Brigadier-General Yossi Beyditz as saying.

Beyditz also confirmed information that Syria had recently delivered
long-range rockets to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement and referred to
this shipment as "just the tip of the iceberg."

"Today Hezbollah has in its arsenal thousands of rockets of different
models, including long-range and solid-fuel missiles...Such missiles
allow Hezbollah to place its missile launchers deep inside Lebanese
territories, implementing significantly longer range launches in
comparison with what we have seen in the past," Beyditz said.

During the Second Lebanon war in July-August 2006, Hezbollah
militants attacked Israeli cities with some 4,000 missiles. The
militants' resistance was so strong that Israel considered it had lost
the military campaign.
