Obama's growing unpopularity in the Muslim world

In June, a Gallup poll revealed a substantial decline in public opinion in the Muslim world
toward both the U.S. and Barack Obama personally, with approval ratings
in many key nations collapsing to Bush-era levels.  Now, a new poll
from the Saban Center at the Brookings Institution -- in conjunction
with the University of Maryland and Zogby -- reveals many of the same
developments and, in some cases, even worse ones.  The poll, taken
during the first two weeks of July in six predominantly Muslim nations
(Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Morocco, Lebanon and Jordan), found -- in the
words of the summary -- "a substantial change in the assessment of
President Obama, both as President of the United States and of Obama
personally."

Two charts in particular show just how substantial is the collapse in public opinion in the Muslim world in the last year alone:

She said that the results are due to come out soon.  She also mentioned that since Obama's Cairo speech (where he was at height of Arab street popularity), the lack of "tangible" results is the reason for the fall in popularity, although the popularity is still "higher" than Bush's time.  She mentioned (6-8 minutes) that reasons for fall in popularity that the "Arab street" has told Gallop are: * Guantanama Bay * war in Afghanistan and Irag * lack of a balanced approach to the Palestinian issues

Where is the article?  The link points to some graphics which show the poll results but not the analysis.  Who is the author?  Most of your posts never show the author's name, IMF.  Please include the author names if you can and check the formatting, too.  It's really hard to read your news submissions sometimes.

I think we should give credit to the authors when we post their articles.
