Feministschool.com, a website in Iran, reported that Iranian authorities continue to refuse jailed human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh’s demands for due process, forcing Sotoudeh to continue her hunger strike. Sotoudeh has agreed to friends’ requests to drink water after nine days of being on a dry hunger strike.

According to Reza Khandan, Sotoudeh’s husband, she will stay on her hunger strike until authorities fulfill their promises to comply with the law.

The Feminist School website quoted Khandan as saying, “Nasrin’s face was so gaunt I didn’t recognize her. She weighed just 57 kg before imprisonment and has dropped 13 kilos in ten weeks. She went under IV therapy twice during this time.” Khandan was allowed to see her for 10 minutes for the first time during her 10-week incarceration.

The website also reported that Sotoudeh’s brother and sister accompanied Khandan on 11 November, seeing her for the first time since her arrest.
