Haaretz: 200 Israeli companies have indirect investment ties in Iranian energy sector

At least 200 companies in Israel maintain extensive trade ties with Iran, in full knowledge of the Israeli government, Israel daily Haaretz reported.

The paper said in a special report today by Yossi Melman that the trade ties include investment in the Iranian energy industry, which is Iran's main source of income, and serves to funnel funds to develop its nuclear programme and weaponry.

The report added that in 2008 the Israeli Kneset approved a law prohibiting Israeli companies from investing in any international companies that have trade ties with Iran.

“Binyamin Netanyahu’s government has done nothing to enforce this law, even after the Israel Electric Corporation and the Israeli Airports Authority purchased hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment from Danish and German companies operating in Iran,” the report said.

The report added that the Prime Minister's Office said that taking action against these companies is not in its jurisdiction, referring to the Israel Finance Ministry.

Last week, the US administration listed the Israeli company Ofer Brothers Group as having trade ties with Iran. The group is subject to US sanctions for its role in providing a tanker valued at $8.65 million to an Iranian shipping company.

Israeli trade with IR Terror Regime

by Simorgh5555 on

It is time for Israel to practice what it  preaches to other countries and get its own house in order. Only until recently did Israel acknowledge that there were no laws in its own country to prevent Israeli registered countries to do business with the Occupying Terror Regime of the World. Hand in hand with its other international obligations in Gaza and the West Bank President Natanyahu must strike an accord with the Palestinians and then focus on the Mullahs. For three decades Israel has had under hand dealings with the IR selling guns and buying crude oil using commodity brokers such as Marc Rich. Israel is now ruing the day it ever did business with the IR who now runs guns to Hamas (another Israeli invention) and Hezbollah terrorirsts. Israel's callous dealings with the IR is now paying back in terror and endangering the security of its own citizens and those of the rest of the world.

Whilst Israel is not the only country to do business with the Terror Regime and its trade with the Terror Regime is a fraction of what the European banks and businesses are doing it is seen as hypocritical and misleading to most people. To put it more frankly: Natanyahu must get his act together.

I call on opposition parties in Israel (I wouldn't be surprised if they too have a hand in all this corruption) to conduct a fully and thorough investigation into clandestine relationships with Israel and the Occupying Terror Regime of Iran and punish all traitors.

From the Terrorist Regime the whole affair is an embarrassment. It has no interest in supporting the Palestinian people and confronting Israel like it says. All the political posturing and Quds Day celebrations are nothing but a hollow sham.  The Quds day celebration is a message to Palestinians that the IR Terror regime will quite happily export terror and destroy peace negotiations but in secret it needs Israel's existence.

Israel's existence is essential for the IR. It has created a bogey man to supress opposition internally whilst loving Israel in secret.
