Tehran, July 2, IRNA -- Iran on Saturday
marked anniversary of shooting down of Iranian passenger plane by the US
warship.

Foreign Minsiter Ali-Akbar Salehi said in a statement that the
brave Iranians are well aware of the world arrogance enmity and will
never back down from their right causes.

On July 3, 1988, the US warship USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air
civilian jet airliner over the Strait of Hormuz. The aircraft, an Airbus
A300B2-203 was flying from Bandar Abbas, Iran, to Dubai, United Arab
Emirates, when it was destroyed by the U.S. Navy's guided missile
cruiser USS Vincennes, killing all 290 passengers and crew aboard,
including 66 children.

'This year, the tragic shooting down of Iranaian passenger plane by
the so-called advocate of human right coincided with the US one way fuel
ban of Iranian airliners. It indicates the US three decades
never-changing enmity toward Iranians in all forms,' the statement said.
