Have you noticed how short
my poems have become?
How desperately I hold on
to your transparent matter,
before you run off to the next
indignant or ranting word?
In your jewel studded dress now
you strike your favorite pose
amidst ruined houses of clay.
I lament death for sure,
but also the transformation
of your beacon of Hope
to this burning sword.
