ماه رمضان در ایران اسلامی حامل گرسنگی، پر خوری و مهمتر از همه، خنده است. گرسنگی آن البته تنها نصیب ۱۰ یا ۲۰ درصدی میشود که در واقع روزه میگیرند. تعجب نفرمائید؛ بر خلاف مسلمانان دیگر، شیعه ایرانی‌ صدی ۸۰ اهل شرابند و ربابند و کبابند. حالا چطوری ما گرفتار تنها حکومت آخوندی جهان شده ایم … باید از مجاهدین و کمونیست‌ها تشکر کرد!

I ask my fellow Iranian sisters, mothers, girl friends to stop saying “daadan” which implies trading an act of sex for something else. Why not just say love making? Or having sex? Or even "kardan"? Are we just natural born prostitutes?

Although I find the term used mostly by those grown up in Iran, it is gaining momentum here in the West in the Iranian communities abroad. May be it’s due to the influence of massively growing migration of Internet-assisted-newlywed Iranian women. Whatever it’s due of, I find it extremely offensive.

Horse Calendar

While visiting my brother during Christmas my nephew Bijan (currently 10) showed me his Halloween horse mask. I tried it on and we took a photo and the horse calendar idea was instantly born. My niece Roya (currently 12) was the director of photography, she planned every shot in detail, took all the pictures and managed the entire operation. My brother provided the wardrobe and my nephew supplied many of the props we used. This was a lot of fun and we knew we were making history as it'll be remembered as one of the best times we spent together plus it earned me the "coolest uncle" title!
