Not welcome
Afghan refugees being sent back to Afghanistan

The Iranian
Imagine Germany loading tens of thousands of Iranian refugees onto buses
and sending them back to Iran. Of course, it would never happen. The international
community would be outraged. Germany would be accused of racism and intolerance.
So does anyone have a good reason why Afghans have to be expelled from
Iran? Are Afghans taking away jobs from Iranians? Are many of them involved
in crime? Aren't these the same excuses Western countries use against undesirable
refugees? What happened to that Persian hospitality we always brag about?
These photos by Ali Khaligh were taken in April and May at the Solaimankhani
camp near Tehran where Afghan refugees were being processed for repatriation.
