Last week, I finalized plans to show two parts of a three-part documentary on
Forough Farrokhzad ("Sard-e Sabz" & "Jaam-e Jaan" by Nasser
Saffarian. See Dorna Kahzeni's "The
last part").
The show is going to be in Berkeley
on October 6. Which is less than three weeks away. Which
is a disaster: there's little time to get people to come to see it. But hey... I
want to do it! It's a great documentary and I may never get a chance to show it later.
Last Thursday I emailed Sadaf Kiani in Tehran (I really
like her
work) and asked if she could design the promotional postcard.
As I waited for her reply, I thought I should work on a design myself, just in case
Sadaf was unable.
I went to Google and searched for Forough's pictures. I liked this one. I changed
the color from black to red. Added "FOROUGH" in Helvetica font in the bottom.
Not the BEST, but simple and to the point. I love her hair, looks like it's on fire:
