The Iranian
Last week Shahrnush Parsipur left
the San Francisco Bay Area for Rhode Island
to lecture and write as part of a nine-month
fellowship for international women writers. She has no plans to
return.
Parsipur's seven years here in Albany were one of
the most productive of her brilliant literary career [See 1996
interview in Persian: Khoshhalam
keh zendeh-am]. Two days before her departure, she
agreed to be photographed at her small one-bedroom apartment.
I'm
grateful for the privilege, and on behalf of all Iranians in
the Bay Area,
wish her the very best. Last <<< .... 24
