Drops in an ocean
Photo essay: Protest in Paris

By Darius Kadivar
December 11, 2002
The Iranian

These pictures were taken last June in Paris during a demonstration against the IRI and in solidarity with the student movement in Iran. The demonstration was organized by Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) and gathered about 30 people on a warm summer afternoon. There were monarchists, republicans and other compatriots.

We were not many but we shouted as hard as we could even if the people at the Iranian embassy were just grinning at our enthusiasm. After two hours we parted a little frustrated but at least happy to have done our share of duty and with the feeling of being united beyond our political preferences. Small drops may turn to oceans.
