* An Islamic Europe?

Ardavan, I think your conclusion is incorrect based on your facts [An Islamic Europe]. You claimed that Europe is becoming majority Muslim soon (in the next 40 years). This is very true.

However, if you want Iran to influence the direction these countries take in 40 years then taking a secular route for Iran is an incorrect measure. We will be shooting ourselves in the foot if we make that mistake.

If the majority of Europe becomes "Islamic" in the future, they will look toward "Islamic" states for examples for themselves and economic partnerships. If the "Islamic Republic" of Iran goes into the industrial and nuclear age, and maintains its Islamic image, the world over will look to it as an example.

All those future Islamic states in Europe will look to Iran's example on how to mold themselves. However, if Iran turns into a secular republic and pushes away the "Islamic" face, then no Muslim will look to it as an example. Especially since we are " SHI'A" and not "SUNNI" they will say the "SHI'A" were weak in faith (which we aren't) and couldn't handle an Islamic government.

If the Netherlands, Spain, France and Germany will be having Muslim majorities, isn't it best we continue to be the Islamic Republic of Iran so that we can become prosperous and independent through their help?

And by no means do I mean to turn a BLIND EYE to what is going on in Iran right now. I'm talking about a struggle to REFORM Iran ourselves (not look toward politicians calling themselves reformists), and yet keeping the Islamic face of Iran. To make Iran an example to both Muslims and non-Muslims of the world. That is my opinion.

Khodah Negah-dar,

Dariush Abadi
