The Iranian
"Dar
Golestaneh" is a tribute to
one of the most beloved modern Iranian poets,
Sohrab Sepehri. It was recorded to mark the anniversary of what
would have been his sixtieth
birthday. Like most fans, I assumed the lyrics would be based on
Sepehri's poetry (Dar Golestaneh is one his famous poems). However,
they are
from classical poets.
Still, Nazeri's beautiful voice and brilliant performances
by the Kamkars make this album wonderful to listen to. A mysitical
journey, indeed.
