Calling All Artists to participate in our Children of Persia calendar 2007 Project
The worldwide “Art on Call” Project is underway. The goal is introducing a few aspects of Persian Legends and Myths to the world.
For Art Submissions:
The Art of Iran hopes to receive artwork from 12 different artists; however, more than one piece may be accepted from an artist. Every picture must emphasize the following theme Persian Legends, Tales, and Myths:
- Jamshid Shah
- Kashf-e Aatash
- Arash Kamangeer
- Seyavash
- Kave Ahangar
- Simorgh
- Zahaak
- Zaal va Rodabe
- Rostam va Sohrab
- Bahram Goor
- Shirin va Farhad
- Khosrow va Shirin
PLEASE NOTE:
- The above subjects are a few examples of Persian Legends, Tales, and Myths. However, this by no means is to limit artists when submitting their work.
- Artist should send a high quality, high resolution reproduction (see instructions below) that best presents for the selection committee.
- Submissions for approval can be one or more works, due no later than August 31, 2007.
Media:
Artist may work in almost any media, including, but not limited to: paint/pencil, collage, photography, and sculpture, digital (no video, please). The approved artwork must be converted to digital format. Artist will be responsible for submitting the final artwork in the following formats.
- Adobe Photoshop (.psd or .eps), Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps) .tif, or .jpg files
- High resolution digital scan (suitable for printing at 300 dpi minimum)
- High resolution digital photograph (choose best print quality setting, jpg format ok)
- Original work or hardcopy will be returned ONLY if self addressed prepaid postage is included.
PLEASE NOTE:
If necessary, original artwork may be acceptable, but we cannot guarantee any damage it may incur in reproduction process.
Any original artwork submitted will be returned after fabrication process is complete. Digital files will not be returned.
Size:
- The final print will be horizontal 8.5 x 11inches. Artwork may be larger than final reproduction dimensions, but should not be smaller.
- Digital files should be as high a resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
- A template will be used to harmonize different artwork in the calendar.
Artist Information:
Along with final artwork, artists should include a brief bio and include their name, location and contact information. website address or other contact information.
