Miss Iran
In 1967, the first pageant ever held in Iran was to select the third "Dokhtareh
Iran". As of this year, Zan-e Rooz, the sponsor of the ceremony, changed
the title to "Dokhtareh Shayesteh Iran" The ceremony was held at Tehran's
Hilton Hotel, with 500 guests. The 14 candidates paraded in uniform clothes as well
as evening gowns. Master of the ceremony Homa Ehsan from Zan-e Rooz asked
each candidate random questions picked by themselves out of a bowl. Shahla Vahabzadeh
was unanimously selected by the the 5-judge panel.
