Roohparvar was onr of the most popular “kooche bazari”
singers before the revolution. She had a strong singing voice.
People had named her “Lalehzar's
Om Kolthum” After the revolution, no longer working, she
fell on hard times. She rented a single room (not an apartment,
just a room in a house) for herself and her blind father, whom she
cared for in one of the old neighborhoods of Tehran. During
the Iran-Iraq war, this house was bombed by the Iraqi Air force,
and both Roohparvar and her father were killed in the attack. “Yaa
Zaameneh Ahoo” is one of her most popular songs.
She will always be remembered.
