Tireless advocate
I made this choice because Maryam Namazie has been a tireless advocate
for the human rights and dignity of all Iranians, at home and abroad. She
has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice and equality for all
and she is a brilliant critic of injustice and hypocrisy wherever she sees
it. Maryam Namazie's work with International Federation of Iranian Refugees
(IFIR) and Committee for Humanitarian Assistance to Iranian Refugees (CHAIR)
has been an inspiration to all who cherish justice and condemn brutality.

Daughter to a cause
This is to nominate Maryam Namazie, my daughter, as Iranian of the Year.
She has put her life on hold to help Iranian refugees of all religions
to a better life. Her dedication is limitless. And although we have lost
a daughter to good cause, we have been honored and privileged to have a
daughter like her. She has made our life richer and more transparent and
aware.
