Iranian film director Tahmineh Milani speaks in Tehran, Sept. 22, 1997. The prominent Iranian film director, known for her liberal and feminist views, has been arrested, a colleague said Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001. Milani was arrested Sunday on the order of the Tehran Revolutionary Court and efforts to win her freedom so far have failed, according to film director Bahram Beizaei.
