25, 2001. The majority of Iran's Christian community are Armenian with a
population of 250,000 out of Iran's total population of approximately 55
million. Iran's Islamic constitution reserves three seats in the 290 seat
assembly for Christians and allows the religious minority to follow their
own religious laws in matters of marriage, divorce and inheritance.
