The diamond engagement ring of the late Iranian Princess Soraya is displayed May
28, 2002, ahead of an auction in Paris. The ring, which was given to the princess
by the Shah in 1950, is made of a 22.37 carat diamond and is estimated to fetch between
400,000 and 500,000 euros ($370,177 and $462,737). Some 1,000 items from the princess'
Paris apartment will be sold during the three-day auction which starts on Wednesday.
