Jian Ghomeshi the host of PLAY, a
widely watched Canadian TV show, and an anti-war activist. A multi-talented musical
artist, writer, and producer, Ghomeshi brings an insider's perspective to the world
of arts and entertainment coverage.
He is best known as a singer and songwriter in the popular folk-rock group Moxy
Früvous. The Juno-nominated band has sold over 500,000 albums worldwide.
They have been featured in People magazine and USA Today and have also
appeared both in Canada and the United States on television programs such as Late
Night with Conan O'Brien, CBS Sunday Morning, CNN Showbiz Today... and
more. As a writer, Ghomeshi's latest opinion pieces have been published in the Sunday
Washington Post, the International Herald Tribune, The Globe and Mail and The
Toronto Star.
Born in London, England, Ghomeshi takes pride in his Iranian heritage as well as
his Canadian citizenship. He holds a degree in Political Science and History from
York University. He is currently recording his debut solo album with the anticipation
