A BBC cameraman working in northern Iraq was killed by a landmine today, April 2,
2003. The cameraman, Kaveh Golestan, was travelling
with three other people outside the town of Kifri when he stepped out of his vehicle
and onto the mine. He died instantly. One other member of the BBC team was injured.
Kaveh Golestan was Iranian, a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist who was already well
known as a photographer and filmaker in his homeland before joining the BBC
