The rug, seen in this image, dates from the first half of the 17th century during the Safavit Period in Iran, is 44 feet long and 14 feet wide, and is the centerpiece of the Smithsonian Institution's Arthur M. Sackler Gallery exhibit entitled 'The World at Our Feet'.
