I would like to nominate my husband, Majid Baradar, P.E., as my Iranian of the day for the coming year.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Majid is a civil/earthquake engineering consultant with twenty six years experience. He is a registered civil engineer and a licensed building contractor in California. He is the author of 345 Solved Seismic Design Problems and Seismic Principles Practice Exams and he is also the co-author of Seismic Design of Building Structures.

Majid was granted the 1995 Professional Achievement Award by the Professional Engineers in California Government. His publications are well received among many engineers graduated from many universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and so on.
