I watch the world poker matches on ESPN from time to time. Recently I noticed one of the players looked Iranian. Then I heard the commentator saying, "Sam Farha..." and I new he was a brotha! And notice the Humphrey Bogart look. He puts a cigarette in his mouth but doesn't light it. This afteroon the TV was on while I was working. I heard Farha's name and I jumped to snap some pictures. It was the finals at Binions Casino in Las Vegas and the only players left on the table were Farha and Chris Moneymaker, battling for the $2.5 million prize. It was a nail biter. In the end Farha lost, but he didn't do too badly. He won second place in a field of nearly 1,000 and won $1.3 million. Now get this: after taking all the pictures and editing and web page work and flag-waving, I did an internet search for Sam Farha just now and it turns out aaghaa lobnaani tashreef daaran. So when you look at the photos and video clips just imagine how thrilled I was to see an "Iranian" poker pro on TV...
