Professor Farhang Shadman (right) holds the Akira
Inoue Award that he received in Tokyo, Japan last December. With
him is Howard
Baker, Jr., United States ambassador to Japan. The award is presented
for outstanding achievement in the areas of environment, health
and safety in the semiconductor industry. Professor Farhang Shadman

Dr. Shadman teaches Chemical and Environmental Engineering as
well as Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona. He is
Director of NSF/SRC Engineering Research Center for Environmentally
Benign Semiconductor Manufacturing.
