Cheshmeh Kohrang
I am standing in zero degree freezing waters yards away from
the source of "Zayandeh Roud" river not too far from
Isfahan. I stood there for about 15 seconds when I could no longer
feel my legs and had to get out. The water simply gushes out of
the belly
of rocks. It's wonderful yet scary.
This was August 2003. Nearby Bakhtiari nomads lived
in their goat's wooltop tents. The air was as clear as you
can get. In the other two pictures you can see
the hole from which
the river appears. The other one is my
family and I at
the entrance of a glassier with snow from hundreds of years ago.
Iran has some great places to see if you know where to look.
