I met Rafi Pitts in Paris in Boulevard Montparnass in the street where French New Wave Director shot the final scene of his legendary film Breathless starring Jean Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. Rafi and I spoke about films, life, Hollywood, Errol Flynn in the Prince and the Pauper, Alain Delon's narcicism, how much I misunderstand Kiarostami (which made both of us laugh) and the sad eventuality of a war between the US, Israel and Iran. Rafi is amongst the spearheaders of the Iranian New Wave Cinema. His father is British and mother Iranian. He lives in Paris but works in Iran often with his talented mother. I came across a very nice, humble and cultured man and who is above all a humanist. Dear Rafi, I hope we get to meet again in Paris and promise I will do my homework and watch Godard's masterpiece: A Bout de Souffle ;0) -- Darius Kadivar
