Sakineh Yekshanbeh-zadeh

There are lots of subtle and not-so-subtle messages in Babak
Payami's Secret
Ballot. In one scene, a young native Arab woman from a village on an Iranian
island hands over her shenaasnaameh (idenitty card) to cast a vote. Her name is "Sakineh
Yekshanbeh-zadeh".
The revolution culminated on Sunday (Yekshanbeh) February 11, 1979 (see newspaper
headline from Monday, February 12, 1979). And Sakineh (Arabic/Islamic origin)
is one of the least popular names in Iran -- often used as a term for ugly woman.
So... am I way off? -- Jahanshah Javid
