Maasmaasak, Galangedan

"Galangedan" is Turkish in origin and composed of two words - Galan ("aamadan", to come forth), and Gedan ("raftan", to leave). It is the part of the gun that you have to move towards yourself first by hand, lock, then release, for it to move back away from you to engage the gun.

Sourena Mohammadi makes a guess:"Maasmaasak" az kalameye arabiye "mostamsak" be ma'naaye "dast-aaviz" (ya "Chizi keh be an chang zanand") aamade. Dar zabaane mohaavere tabdil shode be "maasmaasak' va ba'd az chandi ma'naaye aan ham ghadri dar Farsi avaz shode. "Maasmaasak daste kesi daadan" yaa "chizi ro mesle maasmaasak dast gereftan" dar zabaane farsiye konooni az "Mostamsak faaseleye besyaar gerefte ast dar haali ke kalameye mostamsak khod be jaa be kaar miravad.
