Ancient Norooz tradition

The Persian word kharafsatar refers to (means): the insects and small animals
which were considered to be harmful (such as mice, fleas, flies, and snakes). In
ancient times it was considered a good deed to exterminate, and keep away (as much
as possible) such animals from the people's habitat (including the tradition of this
awareness and effort, in the time of the New Year, Norooz).
