Jamshid's throne
Founded in the Sixth Century BC by the King's of the First Persian
Empire -The Achaemenids- Persepolis was called Parsa-Pars's town
(Province of Fars). Later it was known as Persepolis (Greek influence)
Meaning the city of Persians. It was subsequently called Takht-e-Jamshid,
meaning ''The throne of Jamshid'' in honour of Shah Jamshid, who
was a mythical King of Iran (known for his wisdom and justice).
