Gol-e kalam

Gol-e Kalam is not based on the English "cauliflower." However, there are similarities that suggest they derive from a common source. Cauli in cauliflower is derived from the word cole, for cabbage. Kalam means cabbage as well. Flower is Gol. Both Cauliflower and Gol-e Kalam are descriptions of the vegetable using a literal translation and, therefore, it is likely they have derived from the same source.
