Power of light

When the light is turned on, some Iranians chant "salavaat" in praise of Prophet Mohammad and his family. Why?
Iranians have their roots in Zarathustian religion. Therefore, Iranian Muslims have a respect for light. They believe the Prophet Muhammad and his family brought light to the dark world.
