Majles-e Hazrate- Roghiyeh
Painting by Reza Karimi
Unlike Sofreh Abolfazl, which is an entire buffet of food -- in Majles-e roghieh, or as some call it, Sofreh-e-hazrat-e roghiyeh, the only food offered is Halva and bread. Women gather, listen to Rowzeh-e hazrat-e-roghiyeh and afterwards eat the food and drink tea. Some also like to light a candle, but it's not required. Most people do a Nazr of this sofreh and rather than have it at home, go to a mosque or a shrine and have the rowzeh read and afterwards distribute the halva and bread among the needy.
