What is this procedure called in Persian?
Answer: "Hejamat", where they make small cuts in the back of the neck with razor and let the blood. Supposedly cleanses the blood and body...
[Zohreh Ghahremani objects: Hejamat is different from Badkesh! In hejamat, they use a blade, cut the skin and let it bleed to treat high blood pressure. This picture is that of "badkesh" which is a whole different procedure! To elaborate on that, some call all these procedures "hejamat", that's why in the wax museum it is titled "Ghorfeh-e-hejamat", and I don't know what the word itself means! It can be done by a blade, by hot flaming glass, by using snails and leaches and /or by this procedure, which is called... You guessed it, badkesh!]
