Speaking of animals
"Jaaddeye maal-ro" is an unpaved road suitable for
travel with animals. Are MAAL and ANIMAL linguistically related?
No, "maal" is from the Arabic and actually means property/mechandize.
Domestic animals were major property in olden times and the term
"maal"
to
refer to domestic animals has stuck. "Maal" can refer to women
in the sense of "babe" or "chick",
for example, "oon dokhtare bad maali nist..."
