The Iranian
Communist
A four-letter word where I grew up
A schizophrenic secret of our past
Khosro Roozbeh who defended and died for
His people and his passion, was my namesake
I come from
Forgotten obscure Iranian youth shot hung and tortured
Who ended up abroad and underground
Underappreciated, exiled, forgotten Communists ... GO

Outlook
It is time to forget Iran's past
By Peter Temple -Morris
British Labour MP for Leominster
The Guardian
December 3, 1999
For the last 20 years since Iran's revolution
our relations have been difficult. [Britain's] close historical ties with
Iran, their often semi-colonial nature and our enthusiastic support for
the late Shah have not made things easy.
Now there is a new dawn and a great opportunity. The unexpected election
in 1997 of President Khatami on a programme of modernisation and reform
has given rise to great expectations. Whether these will be fulfilled remains

Yesterday someone emailed me asking how much was I going to sell iranian.com
for.
"Give me a five figure offer," I replied out of curiosity.
"$01,500. Good?" was his reply. Yes. Not even $10,500 but
"$01,500". Cute.
"SOLD!" I joked.
Then he said, "It's not a serious offer yet, just an estimate.
First, I have to see the number of hits it gets, and how it is promoted.
When I get the domain, the site comes with it, correct?"
Classic por roo. Yeh chizi ham dasti baayad bedeem ... laa elaaha elalaa.

I'm an American citizen influenced by many American views, that does not
affect my beliefs. I have one hundred percent Iranian blood!
As a fourteen-year-old I have spent four of my summers there. And my
expierence cannot be put into words. It was all just so beautiful; the
people, the places, the food. I know that the love of my country is more
than the love Shakspeare had for writng. And that this bond is here to
stay until the end of life ... FULL

* Thanking Allah for this blessed land
In response to, "What are you thankful for?"
Kamran Behzadian
writes: I had Thanksgiving dinner with an American Jewish and Catholic
family. There were people fresh off the boat with a lesbian couple from
New York, an aging cross-dressing couple, a retired US army captain, a
few long-haired people stuck in the 60s, bunch of kids and I - the Iranian
guy from California. We ate turkey and stuffing, partied and drank. I taught
them to say "Beh salaamati " and I said "Lekha'im"
every other time we raised our glasses.
All of us newcomers came here for various reasons and this great country
accepted us with open arms and treated us like its own children. Thanksgiving
to me is all about thanking Allah for this blessed land ... FULL
