Film and Television Archive presents Dariush Mehrjui: Trapeze Without a
Net, July 15 - Aug. 1, 1999. Since his film "The Cow" in 1969,
Iranian-born Mehrjui, along with countrymen Abbas Kiarostami and Mohsen
Makhmalbaf, has been instrumental in paving the way for the post-revolutionary
Iranian cinematic renaissance, sometimes referred to as the "Iranian

by the Cannes film festival to cut their contribution to "Tales of
