CARACAS, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Oil exporters Venezuela and Mexico appeared
to heed the United States' call for more oil Friday, as cracks appeared
in OPEC's resolve to stick to the quotas which have sent prices to nine-year
highs. The United States and Japan, the world's two largest economies,
have both warned exporters that they may release their strategic petroleum
stockpiles if the OPEC cartel and other producers maintained a squeeze

* Iran to boost cooperation with France in natural gas sector

gas sector and export its gas, in particular to India and Pakistan, French

* Crude oil still to reach its "real value": Iran minister
BANGKOK, Feb 15 (AFP) - Iran believes crude oil has yet to reach its
"real value" despite prices running at a nine-year high, Iran's
Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari said at UN trade talks here Tuesday.
Shariatmadari also said that Iran was not happy about the steep surge in
prices, which has come amid widespread uncertainty surrounding future OPEC

* Iran says surging oil prices only "temporary"
TEHRAN, Feb 14 (AFP) - Iran believes the current price of oil, surging
around nine-year highs, is only "temporary" and that the market
has yet to find its balance, Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said here Monday.
