Italy's ENI to sign huge gas contract in Iran
TEHRAN, July 27 (AFP) - The Italian firm ENI is to sign a major contract
Thursday giving it rights to gas extraction in the South Pars region of
the Gulf in a deal believed to be the biggest between Iran and a foreign
company since the Islamic revolution of 1979. The deal, which puts Italy
among Iran's leading partners in the energy sector, initially covers the
development of stages (geographic zones) four and five of an eight-stage

Malaysian firm to establish distribution center in Iran
KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 (AFP) - A Malaysian port operator and an Iranian
company will jointly set up a distribution centre at Iran's Shahid Rajaie
Port at Bandar Abbas, the official Bernama news agency said Thursday. Bernama

Zanganeh says Iran open to selling gas to Kuwait
TEHRAN, July 26 (AFP) - Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar-Zanganeh said
Wednesday that Iran is open to selling natural gas to Kuwait, the official
IRNA news agency reported. Zanganeh's statement came following discussions
here earlier in the day with Kuwaiti Oil Minister Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Sabah,

Kuwait denies knowledge of Saudi oil hike, stresses OPEC unity
TEHRAN, July 26 (AFP) - Kuwait's oil minister said here Wednesday he
had no confirmation of reports that Saudi Arabia has hiked its oil output,

Iran calls for producer and consumer-friendly oil price stabilization
TEHRAN, July 25 (AFP) - Iranian President Mohammad Khatami called Tuesday
for a stabilization of oil prices on the world market in the interests
of both producers and consumers, Iranian television reported. Khatami,
meeting with visiting Kuwaiti Oil Minister Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Sabah,
emphasized the need for a "rational stabilization of the oil prices
so as not to hurt consumers and producers."

Iran to sign big oil, gas contract
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - In the biggest deal of its kind, Iran this week
will sign a $4.3 billion contract to develop a massive gas field in the
Persian Gulf, the official daily newspaper, Iran, reported Sunday. It quoted
what it called informed sources as saying the contract to develop the South
Pars gas field would be signed Thursday with Italy's ENI and Petro-Pars

UN team evaluates damages of unprecedented drought in Iran

the damage from a widespread drought in Iran that Tehran estimates has

Iran denies offering drinking water supply to Kuwait
TEHRAN, July (AFP) - Iran on Sunday denied Kuwaiti press reports that
Tehran has offered to supply Kuwait with some 200 million gallons (760

Kuwait welcomes drinking water offer from Iran
KUWAIT CITY, July 21 (AFP) - Kuwait has welcomed an Iranian offer to
supply up to 200 million gallons (760 million litres) a day of drinking
