Rest of the world, its really unfair and arrogant to make such harsh statement about our goventment. The most corrupt and controlled government of the world is the usa’s. you should really consider to watch a few documentaries made by the Americans about their government and then give yourself the right to judge. Never mind reading.
You can start by this documentary about 9 11 where all the facts are considered conspiracy theorise but a statement by one president is countable as a FACT.
There are 19 parts to this documentary here is the link for the first part to get you started.

Enjoy the documentary, or shall I say with sarcasm THE CONSPIRACY THEORY

No more criminals -- Please ask for change
by Amir Nasiri (not verified) on Fri Apr 17, 2009 08:42 PM PDTWhile I was watching this clip I had some tears, the tears where more of anger than anything else.
For 30 years we have been governed under the most gruesome and brutal regime in the history of Iran.
I haven't been back to my motherland for almost 24 years, I haven't hold Iranian passport for almost 24 years.
But I yearn and sometime my heart beats for the day I can visit the neighborhoods and shake my country men hands.
Iranians must unite and ask for change we did it once we can do it again.
The Thais have done it, the eastern Europeans have done it why can't we?
We are the most capable and accomplished people and we need to unite together to remove this regime and scumbags from power.
We need to democratically elect a more qualified individual to run the affairs of the country.
I don't to reiterate the importance of that, we are on the verge of collapse, from economic, social and cultural reason.
If one does not recognize the detrimental factors that another 4 years of IRI agents will bring upon us then our motherland will be gone forever.
This econmoic criss is an opportunity for Iran and Iranian to take advantage off and shpw the true spirit of a once proud nation of heroes, scientist and poets.

Here is what Khamenie said in his speech:
by teabag (not verified) on Fri Apr 17, 2009 03:59 PM PDT"The most sensational aspect of Khamenei’s speech came when he told the
ministers they should not think of themselves as lame ducks and having only one
more year in office. He told them to work and plan as if they had five years left in
their tenures. In other words, he appeared to be effectively guaranteeing an
Ahmadinejad victory in the upcoming presidential election. Though the Islamic
Republic News Agency (IRNA), the country’s official news agency, and run by
staunchly pro-Ahmadinejad forces, reported and emphasized these parts of the
speech, before long, under apparent pressure from other powerful factions in the
regime, Khamenei had to partially retract his statement. His office made its own
version of the speech public. Glaringly absent from the new version was any
mention of the promise of the ‘‘five-year tenure.’’
Aside from his uncharacteristically open support for Ahmadinejad’s
reelection, there are also signs that...

Iranian voters tone deaf?
by Ari Siletz on Fri Apr 17, 2009 03:39 PM PDTThe idea of democracy and geunine elections...
by BK (not verified) on Fri Apr 17, 2009 03:35 PM PDT...under the Islamic Republic is a joke.
There is no genuine opposition that is allowed to campaign freely and take part in elections in Iran. There is no candidate that is not vetted and hand-picked by a bunch of reactionary and unelected Mullahs. There is no president that is not subservient to the ultimate power and thoroughly undemocratic position of the Leader of the Revolution. In short, there is NO democracy in Iran. The whole thing is a sham and it insults the intelligence to suggest otherwise.
Iran politics is complicated
by Alborzi (not verified) on Fri Apr 17, 2009 02:37 PM PDTAhmadinejad came to power by being an underdog and only known to his own constituency. Its not deniable that Iran is having major economical problems. Inflation and unemployment are worst than when he took office, but in reality his chances are higher now than the first time, as the say "Shahnameh akharesh kosh ast".
