Iran Signals New Openness to U.S.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's president on Wednesday sent the clearest signal yet that the Islamic Republic wants warmer ties with the U.S., just one day after Washington spoke of new strategies to address the country's disputed nuclear program. Taken together, the developments indicate that the longtime adversaries are seeking ways to return to the negotiating table and ease a nearly 30-year-old diplomatic standoff. "The Iranian nation is a generous nation. It may forget the past and start a new era, but any country speaking on the basis of selfishness will get the same response the Iranian nation gave to Mr. Bush," Ahmadinejad told thousands in the southeastern city of Kerman. In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton discussed Ahmadinejad's comments during a meeting Wednesday with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana. "With respect to the latest speeches and remarks out of Iran, we welcome dialogue," Clinton said. "We've been saying that we are looking to have an engagement with Iran, but we haven't seen anything that would amount to any kind of proposal at all>>>

Direct Talks, no bars held.

Back in 1979 I said this would happen.

No one believed it!

I predicted it, and it happened!

The hostage crisis happened...

I still said it would happen!!!

The Iran-Iraq war happened, I said it would still happen!!!

The Iran-Contra Affair happened, President Reagan sent a Bible to Rafsanjani.  I said it would happen.

I said the US and Iran would topple Saddam and the Taliban!!!

I predicted it.  It happened!!!

Today, there are direct talks!!!

And to all who didn't believe it, you should believe it!!!

Jesus saw Mohammad in Jerusalem 2000 years ago and all this was planned out!!!

To deny this fact is just plain stupid!!!

Essentially Iranians want a respectable outcome,
if it smells stupid then its stupid. Dubaya wanted my way or highway and the Iranians told him bilakh. Iran will demand and not accept anything less than freedom to do as they wish. Its kind of like Romeo and Juliet, if there was not so much opposition they probably would not be that much into it either. Essentially USA has to realize that a country that does not have a capability to even reach it, is not a big deal and let it be.

Sending mixed signals

IRI is master of sending mixed signals. I just read in persian BBC that Ahmaghinejad has said today that nuclear talks is history and Iran is ready to talk about peace and stability issues worldwide. I think he is talking about the same thing as the BS he talked on british TV during christmas and the funny letter he send to G.W Bush.

I do not understand what he wants to talk about? He wants to convert everybody to 12 imam shia before the coming of Mahdi?
